A Second Saga?

Okay, let's all sit around the computer. There are some things I need to talk to you all about:

  • Sequel Saga
  • Suggestions
  • Questions

The Turn:

I have this great idea for a second saga called The Turn (inspired by Burn It Down by Linkin Park *love them!*) but I need to know if you want one. The story would be taking place some time in the future and the original characters, as far as I see, won't make a presence. Even Undertaker won't be there. (Don't worry fans, I'm sure you will like his replacement) I don't, however, want it to be like future space ships future, (okay, maybe there will be flying hover machines, but that's IT I tell you!) more like "Hey the new Ipad 10 Nano Supper Edition came out!"

All the main characters will be in their teens. If you want to know, the new team is multicultural. I am sorry if I appeared racist in any way in the Insanity Saga, I meant no one harm. There will still be the Tower and the Island and more powers that you can even count. Unlike the original, these teens will be employed by the tower. The new characters are also clinically sane. Sorry guys.

If you all want, I can post the first chapter and we can see where things go from there. I need to warn you that it may be a while before I post multiple chapters because I like having a chapter bank to buffer from everyone's requests for more chapters. Example: I write ten chapters before posting the first one. That way I can not write a day and still feel like I'm not letting anyone down. Also if I feel that people are kind of like 'eh' on the idea I wont do it. Not to be mean but I do have a life.

Also understand that I am going to college in the spring. COLLEGE! Meaning SCHOOL! I don't know yet how much time I'll have to write but like I did this one...I will get there.

If you have any questions, please comment or e-mail me and I will get to them as soon as possible.

Suggestion Box is Always Open:

As an author (on the internet at least), I want your reading experience to be pleasant. Are there things that could be better for everyone enjoyment? Are the changes that I have been making been satisfactory? Is there something that you think I could do better?

Over all, these chats, comments, and e-mails are how I try to communicate with you the reader and how you can communicate to me. I love talking and I love listening. Best of both worlds if you ask me. I will not cuss you out for a comment no mater what it says. Hey, you could say that my writing sucks and I should get some different material and I will love you for it! I love a lot of things but as a writer I LOVE critisism! It makes me a better writer to better relate with you! Awesome!

Ditto for site suggestions too. If you cant see my words...tell me. That is kind of a problem. Don't have an e-mail account? Comment. Can't comment? Snail Mail me or better yet send me brain messages. Get your point across!

Any Questions?

Okay, we just finished a long Saga. There have bound to be some questions. Or you can ask me about the meaning of life...which is 42 by the way.

So.....I'm done. Balls in your court now. Yep. Loki says hi.

Insanity: Chapter Forty-Nine

Insanity
Chapter Forty-Nine
~Aftermath~
Day Forty-Three

The Summer Festival was in full bloom in Transaction Square and everywhere for that matter. The fire hydrants were releasing their copious amounts of water while children played in them. Carnival games were set up and prizes were being handed out. Sprinklers were hooked up to their respective outdoor faucets. Air conditioners could break down and no one would mind.
Undertaker sighed as he looked at his store from the outside. He had donned his hat once again and his accent. Reighn sat on his shoulder and sighed right after his master. A 'For Sale' sign hung on the front entrance. Undertaker smiled a bit but it was obvious that he was going to miss his side business. However, a full retirement sounded like heaven. He didn’t think he could handle another save the world fiasco. Undertaker turned toward Transaction Square.
“You know, Reighn,” Undertaker said as he walked.
Reighn’s bell rang.
“I sure hope out little nook of a store finds a good owner soon. She looks lonely.”
Reighn nodded and looked over his shoulder. He raised a tiny paw and waved goodbye to the familiar building.
Undertaker walked toward a group of tables. He smiled at the familiar faces that he saw. Lumin and Arisa were eating ice cream. Penelope was reading another one of her manga. Alister and Shifter were discussing what cockamamie dare devil stunt to try next. Raven was a little introverted and just sat quietly and watched everyone. Shadow was talking to Sage who had amazingly decided to come. Fang seemed to be waiting for Undertaker’s arrival. Undertaker tipped his hat and sat beside him.
“It’s the perfect weather for the Festival don’t you think?” he said.
Fang nodded, “Its good weather.”
Arisa slapped down her spoon, “I win!”
Her ice cream bowl was crapped clean. Her strawberry vanilla ice cream with strawberry chunks topped with strawberry sauce and white chocolate chips was downed before Lumin’s ice cream. Lumin was deliberately eating his Blue Moon ice cream with white and dark blue sprinkles with the one cherry on top slowly. He could see Arisa’s hurried approach at her ice cream and assumed that she was racing him.
Arisa looked over at his ice cream, “Are you going to eat that?” she pointed to the cherry.
“How many times do I ‘ave ta tell ya?” Alister overheard, “He can’t—”
Lumin glared at him, “Say that I can’t talk and I will skin you alive.”
Alister froze mid-sentence, “Right. I forgot.”
“Sure, you did,” Lumin nodded.
Arisa gave up on the cherry, “Can we go swimming?”
Lumin looked at Fang for approval. Fang nodded. Arisa jumped up and ran toward the waterworks on the square. Lumin stood up and followed her. Reighn looked like he wanted to join the fun and rang the tiny bell on his tail. Undertaker smiled and Reighn followed Arisa and Lumin.
“You’re wastin’ a perfectly good bowl of ice cream, you know!” Alister called after him.
“Screw you!” Lumin called over his shoulder.
Unbeknownst to Alister, Lumin smiled smugly as he walked away. It really felt good getting back at all those times Alister had been to dense to get the message. Alister looked after Lumin and seemed very uneasy about Lumin’s transformation.
“Hey!” Shifter was wearing his beach clothes. He was looking upward at a weather vane on one of the surrounding buildings.
Alister looked at the weather vane, “What?”
“I’ve got this great idea! We should race to see who can get to that weather vane first!” Shifter said with excitement.
“Eh,” Alister didn’t see it as dangerous enough.
“Then we could borrow it and use it at the house for when the next thunderstorm comes through! You ever wanted to see a thunderbolt up close?”
Alister raised an eyebrow. Now that sounded interesting and dangerous. Both he and Shifter walked casually away and whistled awkward tunes. They walked to a local stand and pretended to look at the merchandise. When they though that Fang wasn’t watching they darted into the crowd and were lost in the crowd. Fang noticed of course but decided not to do anything about.
“Awwww! Kawaii desu!” Penelope chimed.
She paused, realized that she had said that out loud, and looked awkwardly around at the remaining people at the table. Penelope smiled. All eyes were on her.
“What are you reading?” Raven asked.
“Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino,” Penelope answered.
Raven looked confused. She really was only interested in the cover. Those were anime vampires? Raven and Penelope started talking about the manga/anime. Undertaker sat back in his chair.
“Hard to believe that only a week ago we were saving the world,” he said.
Shadow sighed, “And no one knows that we did.”
“It’s necessary,” Sage stated as he sipped his iced tea, “After all, you don’t exist.”
“Still,” Shadow muttered, “Some credit would be nice.”
Fang looked at Sage, “Did you find everyone you needed to find?”
“Most of everyone,” Sage paused, “but we think that Nest and Rose were caught in the initial blast. We are missing Thae and Edonya. They’re in the wind.”
“Are you going to look for them?” Undertaker asked.
“We’ll try for about a year.”
“You aren’t trying very hard though, are you?” Fang stated.
Sage shrugged, “We have better use of our resources and time. They aren’t that great of a threat anyway. If we find them, we’ll apprehend them but if we don’t, we won’t lose sleep over it.”
“So Zero is dead?” Fang stated.
“I don’t know very many people who can survive a building falling on top of them,” Sage let the statement hang in the air. He took another sip of his drink, “I hear your leaving the island Undertaker.”
Undertaker smiled, “I need a real retirement.”
Sage managed a quick small smile.
“Where will you be headed?” Shadow asked.
Undertaker shrugged, a huge smile spread across his face, “I’ve always wanted a little house on the prairie.”
Fang rolled his eyes and Sage hid his smile behind his drink. Shadow stared blankly ahead. He was pretty certain he was missing a reference somewhere but didn’t want to ask.
Undertaker sat up as if he remembered something, “Oh, Fang, I just remembered something. This is for you.” He brought out a folder.
Sage awkwardly looked away. Officially, he wasn’t supposed to know about said transaction. He busied himself with watching the festivities. Fang took the folder, opened it and read its contents. Shadow tried to get a view of their next mission. Even Penelope and Raven paused their conversation to listen.
“What does it say?” Shadow asked.
Sage cleared his throat and sipped his drink again. Fang closed the folder and placed it in his lap.
“We’ll discuss it later,” he said sensing Sage’s awkward position.
Shadow smiled, “Ha! We’re back in business!”
“If I may ask,” Fang directed his question to Sage, “who will we get our missions from?”
Sage thought about it a moment, “Well, I guess Shifter could cover those responsibilities,” then he had an expression of mock surprise, “Did I say that out loud?”
“What will happen to the Pawn Shop?” Penelope asked Undertaker.
Undertaker shrugged, “She’ll have to survive without us for a while. Hopefully she’ll be bought by a person that really cares for her and treats her kindly. Reighn is really taking it pretty hard. He really had the most investment in the place. The poor thing really is the sentimental type, you know.”
“What are your plans now, Fang?” Sage asked.
“Well,” Fang started, “We all need some rest still. After that, I think we’ll visit China.”
“China?” Sage looked skeptical.
“China,” Fang confirmed, “From what I hear, China is beautiful this time of year. Especially near the Shanghai area.”
“Shanghai?” Sage smiled. He shook his head, “Good luck, Fang,” he muttered, knowing full well why Fang was going to Shanghai, China.
“But for now,” Fang continued, “We’ll lie low.”
There was a long period of silence. Suddenly Sage’s phone rang and he answered it. He talked for a few seconds and hung up the phone. He stood up to leave.
“Something came up at the office,” he said looking a long while at Penelope, “Something about our servers being down.” She smiled back as innocently as she could manage.
Fang and Undertaker stood up to bid Sage goodbye. When Sage left Undertaker smiled, “So what do you have planned?”
“Yeah,” Shadow said, “What do we have planned?”
“We’re going to China,” Fang said.
“What happened to “we’ll lie low”?” Raven asked.
“Let’s call that a white lie,” Fang stated, “Get the others and get ready to go.”
Shadow, Raven and Penelope stood and went to find the others. Undertaker and Fang were left standing by the table.
“I hope to see you somewhere, Undertaker,” Fang stated.
“Aww, you’re going to miss me Fang?” Undertaker smiled.
“No,” Fang said a little too quickly, “I was just saying that maybe when we’re on one of our missions we might see each other sometime.”
“Oh, Fang! I’ll miss you, too!”
“I’m not going to miss you!”
“It’s okay, Fang!” Undertaker smiled, “I’ll be sure to visit every once in a while!”
Fang sighed and kept his mouth shut. Inside though, he had to admit that having the crazy ex-Agent around had been a welcomed stress. Undertaker looked at Fang, his eyes glittering with laughter underneath his bangs. Fang looked at Undertaker, nodded, and left toward the mansion. Undertaker watched him walk away.
Reighn walked up to him and stood by him. Undertaker smiled. There was no way to know for sure what would happen in the future, whether or not they would actually see each other again. However Undertaker knew that the wolves would have many adventures yet to come in their future. He knew they would try Sage’s patience. He knew that Shifter would always get on Fang’s nerves. Undertaker laughed.
“Oh, Reighn,” he said, “I’m going to miss this them and this place.”
Reighn nodded.
Undertaker took one last look around the square. He sighed and placed one hand on Reighn’s shoulder. Together they took in one last sight of their surroundings. With a smile and a laugh, both Undertaker and Reighn vanished in a swirl of grey mist.

Insanity: Chapter Forty-Eight

Insanity
Chapter Forty-Eight
~Sunrise~
Day Thirty-Six

Rose stood in place for a few minutes, “O-kay.”
Nest looked disinterested, “Keep her busy. I’ll protect the machine.”
Rose looked again. The girl who had a surprising resemblance to a children’s book he remembered reading long ago was peering around the corner. He sighed; this wasn’t going to be any fun. He extended his arm. Rose vines shot forward from inside his sleeve. They struck around where the girl was. The attack was only meant to frighten not to kill.
Penelope darted back to her hiding spot. She sighed. So much for Anime-zilla saves the day. She heard something though the wall. It sounded like one of the lower doors closing.
Raven looked up at the last flight of stairs, “Penelope? Are you up there?”
There was no answer and she started to assume the worst. She ran up the stairs to the door. Almost instantly she had to dodge and attack. She crouched to her knees and rolled forward. She darted around the concrete door and stopped suddenly.
“Penelope!?” Raven cried in surprise.
Penelope smiled nervously.
“What are you doing back here?” Raven continued.
“Nothing,” Penelope answered.
Raven sighed. A wave of blue washed over them. They both paused a moment, gripping their heads.
“I say we put an end to that thing,” Raven stated.
“Okay,” Penelope nodded, “but you have to get the plant guy.”
“Why do I have to get the plant guy!?”
“Because he’s scary!” Penelope whispered.
“Fine! Then you find a way to turn that thing off!”
Penelope nodded. Raven got up and ran around the corner. Rose flicked his wrist and vines broke the concrete beneath her feet. Raven jumped onto the ledge and ran up to him. She jumped down, crouched and kicked him in the stomach. Penelope, seeing her window, ran toward the machine to see if she could shut the thing off. She stopped a computer but it looked useless and broken. She then looked at the boy standing not too far from the machine. He looked at her in intellectual but uncaring eyes.
Penelope’s eyes narrowed and she charged at the boy. She ended up running face first into a type of force field. Unlike Zero’s it didn’t reflect her. Penelope stepped back and tried another approach. She prepared to teleport but something happened and she had to take a step back. Annoyed she tried again but she just couldn’t teleport to the other side of the dome. She looked at the boy who was protecting the machine. He smiled slightly at her dismay.
“That won’t work, you see,” Nest explained, “my power makes yours worthless.”
“Oh, yeah?” Penelope glared at him, “Well, what is your great power then.”
“Null,” Nest explained further, “Void, valueless, worthless, insignificant.”
Penelope scowled. There had to be away to get through Nest’s barrier. She smiled. She might have just thought of a way.

Alister groaned as he turned onto his back. He was covered in melted dragon ink and it wasn’t a pleasant feeling. Slowly, he sat up. His stiff muscles were causing him some trouble. He aced all over. It was understandable though; after all he just crashed though dozens of floors, killed a dragon and busied the entire right side of his body. Just another day at work.
He heard something in the rubble and looked up, “Oh, it’s you.”
Alister made a motion to get up, Zorah shook her head, “Now, now it’s alright,” she reached for one of the staffs on her back and pointed the pronged end at Alister’s neck, “No need to get up.”
Alister stopped moving and raised his hands. He gave a sheepish smile and tried to laugh it off.
“Oh, look ‘at that! You got me!” Alister smiled, “Now I’ll just—”
“Stop talkin’!” Zorah jabbed her weapon forward, “I’m in a very bad mood t’day and your yappin’ ain’t making things any better!”
“And it’s about to get worse,” Alister said as he kicked out his leg.
He struck Zorah’s leg causing her to slip in the slick ink on the ground. Zorah fell onto her back, throwing her weapon from her hand. Alister got to his feet and looked around for something to defend himself. He spotted Raven’s sword and scrambled for it. Awkwardly he climbed his way over a boulder and to the sword. Zorah got to her feet and started after Alister. She unsheathed her other weapon.
Zorah swung it in a wide arch. Alister brought up his weapon. He fumbled around the weapon clumsily as he wasn’t used to wielding a sword, unless stabbing a dragon counted for something. He blocked and parried most of the attacks that he couldn’t dodge.
Alister took step after step back to avoid being sliced to ribbons. He took a glance behind him and saw that he was running out of hallway. Zorah’s spear fell down on his shoulder, digging deep into his arm. Alister gripped his shoulder and Zorah withdrew the weapon from his shoulder to prepare for another attack. Alister sidestepped to one side as the spear sailed toward him. Zorah, expecting resistance when there was none, fell forward. Alister dropped the sword and ran toward the open hole in the floor. Zorah spun around and saw Alister trying to get away. She ran after him.
Alister spotted the spear that Zorah dropped before. He bent down to grab it just as Zorah swung her spear where his head had just been moments ago. He grabbed the spear and stepped back as Zorah lunged past him to try and stab him from another angle. Alister threw the spear. It struck Zorah in the stomach and went through her body.
Shocked, Zorah dropped her weapon. It fell off the edge with an eerie clattering. She took a few steps back from the impact, precariously close to the edge. Her hands gripped the shaft of her weapon. She seemed in disbelief that this was how it was going to end. There were no more tricks up her sleeve, no tattoos up her arm, no plan, and no back way out. She smiled a little. Her balance was unsteady but she didn’t try to steady herself. She looked up at Alister.
“Till we meet again, Love,” she nodded before falling over the edge.
Zorah fell floor after floor after floor. The smile on her face grew wider and wider. Soon she was laughing hysterically. Her life zipped across her eyes. All the wrong she had done, all the people that she killed, and all the little people that she had to step on to get to where she was now. Now, it all meant nothing.
“You’ll remember me, won’t you?” she screamed to no one in particular. A tear started to form in her eye, “Won’t you? You’d remember me, right? You’d—”
Everything went black and her soul moved on.
Alister didn’t hurry to the edge. He had no intentions of seeing someone fall to their death. He fell in a heap on a rock, both exhausted and physically pained. A hand rested on his shoulder. Startled, Alister jumped up, ready to face the next threat. But when he turned around, Shadow stood there behind him.
“You all right?” Shadow asked.
“I’ve been better,” Alister groaned, “We should get to the roof.”

Penelope pulled out one of her gadgets. If anyone remembers, it’s the one that paralyzed Shadow in the leg. She pulled out that same rod and pointed it at the machine. Penelope wasn’t exactly sure what was going to happen but it would put her inventions to work. She looked quickly at Raven. It wasn’t quite time yet.
Raven did a backflip to avoid the thorned vines that had come at her. She caught a glimpse of Penelope looking at her. Raven wasn’t sure what the girl was thinking but she didn’t like narrowed look behind her glasses. She landed and dodged four more vines all the while making sure that she kept Penelope in her peripheral vision.
Once Penelope was certain that Raven had her back, she waited for another wave to wash past before pressing the button on her weapon. An electrical blast fired from it but ran only on the outside of Nest’s barrier. Nest smiled at the girl’s stupidity. Penelope continued to press the button repeatedly sending out more and more electrical busts. Soon Nest’s barrier was basically an electric dome.
The next wave didn’t make it outside the barrier. It radiated from the machine, hit the barrier and followed the upward curve until it struck the center of the machine again, causing the blue energy great irritation. Nest’s eyes grew wide when he realized what the girl was trying to accomplish. Penelope had created a type of magnetic field containing the waves and sending it back to itself. In other words, she created a way for the machine to destroy itself.
Nest looked wide eyes at the machine. He tried to drop the shield but the growing pressure made it hard to focus. Nest dropped to his knees and gripped his head. Raven broke away from her battle with Rose and ran to Penelope. She gripped her hand and ran toward the edge.
Penelope screamed as both girls fell. Raven pressed her feet against the building to slow their decent enough for her to start running. They made it to the ground and Raven instantly started running to one of the other buildings. She had a feeling that it would suck to stay in that building any longer than necessary.

“What’s happening!?” Rose shouted.
Nest didn’t answer. The pressure was beginning to be too much. The blue energy was about 50% its original size. That much pressure wasn’t good. Nest gripped his head. Blood flowed from his nose and ears. There was a high pitched screech as the blue energy shrunk even more. Nest collapsed, his eyes staring at the machine. Blood pooled around his body.
The energy continued to shrink. Rose turned to the stairwell and started to make his way down.
The pressure built up too much and finally, it exploded. A large blue shock wave destroyed the top five or so floors, vaporizing practically everything it came in contact with.
Shadow felt the sudden jerk, grabbed Alister and entered the nearest wall. Quickly, Shadow descended the building. He felt a breeze behind him and he risked a look. A white mass seemed to be following him. It’s tentacles of light abolishing everything it touched.
“Hey!” Alister yelled, “Can this ride go any faster?!”
Shadow turned his head back around and ran as fast as he could. He jumped and ended up on one of the other surrounding buildings. Alister ran to the nearest window. He shaded his eyes as the building crumbled and the blue nebulous thing dispersing but destroying anything it touched.

Debris fell on both Fang and Zero as Fang chased Zero down. Reighn did his best to avert what he could but Fang found himself ducking and dodging as much as staying alive. Ahead of him, Fang saw Zero, almost within grasp when suddenly he felt an arm stop him. He looked at who it was and saw that Undertaker had yet again come out of hiding.
“Let’s go, Fang!” Undertaker said with authority.
Fang was about to protest when he noticed the shaking and the falling debris had increased.
Undertaker looked down the way Zero had disappeared, “He’s dead down there anyway.”
He grabbed Reighn’s hand too before disappearing in a grey mist. Just then the basement ceiling caved in as the building’s falling weight was too much to handle. Burying and hopefully killing the infamous Zero.

Lumin and Arisa sat on the ledge of a distant building. After he had Arisa in his arms again, he took her out of harm’s way. They both watched at the building came crashing down. Lumin looked slightly concerned about the others. He held Arisa closer. She sat next to him looking at the spectacle before them.
“Lumin?” Arisa looked up at him.
Lumin smiled down at her. She was already using his real name so soon after he told her during their walk to their perch.
“Yes,” he answered.
“I ran away from Fang,” Arisa said, “Do you think he’s okay?”
“I’m sure he’s fine.”
Just then Undertaker and his two travelers appeared behind them. Undertaker folded his arms. A smile appeared on his face as he watched the smoldering building. Reighn assumed his Kew form and settled on Undertaker’s shoulder. He watched for a while before curling up by Undertaker’s neck and falling asleep. Fang stared at the building for a while. After a moment, he walked over to the two at the ledge.
“Good to see you’re all right, Blue,” Fang said.
Lumin smiled. He could sense that Fang left Arisa out on purpose. Arisa looked down out of shame and the knowledge that she would be punished later. He would deal with that later. Lumin looked up at Fang.
“Lumin,” he stated.
Fang looked at him with confusion and shock.
“My name,” Lumin clarified, “it’s Lumin Escence.”
Fang nodded, “Nice to meet you Lumin Escence.”

Insanity: Chapter Forty-Seven

Insanity
Chapter Forty-Seven
~Dawn~
Day Thirty-Six

Shock of energy balled up in the center than in a sudden burst, a fiery blue shockwave radiated from the machine. Both Nest and Rose were blown back a ways. The force field around the building chattered floor by floor. The force from the wave shattered every window as well. Once it reached the ground it fanned out at all sides, shattering the windows of all the nearby windows and vanishing beyond the visible horizon.
Rose got to his feet. He heard Nest laughing hysterically.
“I told you,” Nest said in between laughs, “I told you we’d know when it was working!”

Penelope jerked awake with a scream as the wave passed her floor. She felt in her body, in her bones, in the very depths of her body almost as if it were scanning her, searching her. Wide eyed and terrified she sat still. Her body shook with the experience. It was probably, no certainly, the worst thing she had ever gone through.
She suddenly felt cold. Quickly she glanced at the computer. Both cameras were out. She swore at herself for sleeping and got up. Penelope ran into the hallway. Three guards were couched over in agonizing pain. One of them grabbed Penelope’s ankle and wouldn’t let go.
Another wave rolled down the building. Penelope gripped her head in pain while the others screamed as if they were being tortured. The man let go of Penelope’s ankle and she ran toward the stairs. She couldn’t wait any longer. She had to put an end to that thing.

Shadow tried another jab when the first wave went through. Both he and Thae fell to their knees. Shadow dropped his knife and gripped his head. Every nerve in his body felt like it was on fire. Glass from the windows shattered and flew in all directions.
When it passed and Shadow seemed to regain his pain educed insanity the second wave passed over. Again a searing pain shot through his entire body. He thought he saw Thae bent in pain a few feet away but in all honesty he didn’t care. All that he wanted was the pain to stop.
He spotted a dagger with in arms reach. Thoughts of killing himself raced through his mind; at least that would end the pain. Shadow closed his eyes and thought of anything else, anything other than the pain and his suicidal thoughts. Fang. It was the first clear thing that entered his mind. He tried to focus all of his thoughts on Fang and soon the pain subsided.
Shadow breathed heavily. He looked around for Thae but there was no sign of him. Shadow pulled himself to a wall and rested for a moment.

The first wave washed over Raven, waking her up from her back out. The thunderbird screamed in agony. Raven threw her hands over her ears. Her eyes darted around. She realized that she was thrown under a large conference table. While she was out the bird had been trying to reach her but she was too far in to be reached by the large bird.
Another wave passed causing her muscles to hurt. Again the thunderbird screeched. Something wet seeped under the table. At first Raven thought that it was blood but noticed that the consistency wasn’t right. She realized that the liquid was ink. Acting quickly, Raven grabbed her gun and rolled out from under the table.
The conference room was a mess. There was a large hole in the floor and a smaller one in the ceiling. Scratch marks were scattered around the large table where the bird had been scratching. Raven hit the ceiling at a certain angle that when she hit the floor she had rolled under the table.
Raven spotted the bird. Instead of its vibrant golds, blues and greens, in was a muddy combination of the three. The color was almost black but not quite. The bird spotted her. It screeched its anger at her and started to clumsily make its way toward her. Raven raised the gun and fired several times. Each time the bird took a step back toward the hole in the floor. She heard a click indicating that she was out of bullets. The bird was so close to falling to its inky death. She drew her last sword and threw it overhand at the winged beast. The sword struck in in the chest. It took one more step back, lost its balance and fell.
Raven took a deep breath and walked to the edge to view her job well done. When she looked over, her eyes grew wide and she tried frantically to get back from the opening.

Alister stumbled when the first wave came from above. He suddenly felt heavy and grounded. His head throbbed and it wasn’t helped with the dragon’s roars. He covered his head as glass shards rained down on him. Alister raised his head a little to see what the dragon was up to. His eyes widened as he saw the dragon’s armored scales seem to melt away into a puddle of black ink. He looked around quickly and saw Raven’s sword was still where it had been when she was picked up by the thunderbird. Without thinking he grabbed it and got to his feet.
Zorah recovered from the first wave and saw Alister pick up the sword. She looked to her dragon and saw what he was intending to do. She jumped over the edge of the balcony and ran toward her dragon.
It was a race to see who could get to the dragon first. Alister was only slightly in the lead. The second wave washed over. The dragon roared in agony. It extended it wings as if to take off into the air. Alister ran faster toward the dragon. He raised his sword and just as the dragon rose into the air, pierced the dragon’s skin at the base of its neck. In pain and agony it rose into the air and flew frantically in order to get rid of the pain.
Furious, Zorah managed to grab hold of the dragon’s hind leg. Angered and pained, the dragon few upward toward the ceiling.  Alister gripped the hilt of the sword with all his might. He looked with despair at the coming ceiling. Black ink fell from the hole that was made when the thunderbird had taken Raven. He closed his eyes in preparation of the impact.
Raven looked over the edge. Her eyes grew wide when she saw the dragon coming and she tried frantically to get back from the opening. The floor exploded as the dragon came through. The part of the floor Raven was standing collapsed. She felt herself falling.
Quickly, she looked for something to grab onto. The first thing she saw was the dorsal spiked on the dragons back. So far they had not been affected by the waves. The first one she past was too slippery from the ink around it. She tried again and managed to grab onto the largest one just as the dragon broke through another ceiling. Raven grunted as a piece of tile struck her in the head. Alister was even less fortunate. Since he was around the neck he took the brunt of the impact.
Shadow suddenly sat up, hearing the crashing and booming on the floors below. The floor started to shake, a feeling that Shadow thought was a good sign telling him to run. He got to his feet and ran toward the stairwell. As he got to the door, the dragon crashed through his floor. The lights flashed, debris few everywhere, a loud roar filled Shadow’s ears. He covered his head with his hands.
There were a few more crashes up on the higher floor that sent more debris and such to the floors below. Shadow slowly uncovered his head. He hadn’t seen what had gone through but was relatively certain that it wasn’t human. Slowly he rose from his crouched position. Live wires sparked giving off a ziit ziiz sound. He tentatively walked to the edge of the large hole in the floor and looked up to see what had done the damage.
The dragon let out another agonized scream. Alister hung on to the sword. His hair and face were covered in plaster dust. Even though it would be awesome to send the dragon up to the top floor and put an end to the machine, Alister figured that he would have to put an end to the dragon before a beam went through his head.
He brought out an army knife from his pocket and stuck it into the dragon’s neck. The blade wasn’t long enough to kill the beast but it gave Alister a hand grip. Lucky the dragon was still solid underneath its melting skin so the knife held. He pulled out the sword. He waited as the dragon rammed through another floor then stuck the sword in again, this time in a different place.
Crash, Stab, Crash, Remove, Crash, Rinse and Repeat. Alister was getting exhausted. He used the last bit of energy that he had left and pulled himself up higher with the hand around the knife. He then took the sword, angled it downward and plunged it into the dragon’s neck. The dragon roared in pain. Its assent suddenly slowed suddenly. The abrupt stop caused Raven to lose her grip on the dragon’s dorsal spike. She felt herself still ascending because of the momentum that she had been under for a while.
Raven saw the dragon falling beneath her. She saw Alister at the dragon’s neck. She screamed his name but if he heard her, he didn’t show it. The dragon’s head sailed by her, its green eyes were now black. She felt gravity take over and she started falling. The dragon fell at an angle through the floor below where it had just broken through.
Raven grabbed onto a metal beam that jetted out from the whole that the dragon had only half penetrated. She looked below as the dragon fell at an angle, landing more on its back through the floor two floors below hers. It fell some more but exploded into a puddle of ink a floor later.
With a sigh, Raven climbed up onto the beam and walked across it to solid ground. She collapsed in a heap once she was a safe distance from the edge. She breathed heavily for a few moments then quickly sat up. Raven got to her feet and ran to the stairs on her side and made her way up to the roof.

The first wave stuck the ground. Concrete and debris fell on those who were in the basement. Fang looked up as dust showered on top of him. He sighed. Inside he knew he had to get up there. He looked over at Zero then at Undertaker.
Undertaker brushed some dust off of his shoulder. The expression on his face seemed one of disgust that dust would dare fall on him. He met with Fang’s gaze and smiled.
“Come on, Reighn,” he said, his gold eyes glittering with mischief, “Let’s leave the rest to Fang, hmm.”
Reighn paused. He placed down his weapon and nodded.
Zero stood up from recently being knocked back. He smiled, “I see the machine is working fine.”
“I couldn’t tell, Beta,” Fang said as he walked closer, “was it supposed to tingle ‘course I couldn’t feel a thing.”
Zero smiled, “How did I give it away?”
Fang shrugged, “Back there, when you had me cornered, call it a gut instinct.”
Zero smiled, “Well, it’s nice to be remembered.”
“You killed Alpha,” Fang stated.
Zero laughed, “I recall he died in a very unfortunate building fire.”
“But it was your fault. You knew I never wanted Alpha’s spot and yet that’s what you told him.”
“I must have been mistaken,” Zero stated.
“You were the one who wanted Alpha’ place and since you couldn’t kill him and you hated me, you set things up so that at least one or both of us would end up dead. You wanted power and you still do.”
“And you’re still in my way,” Zero laughed, “Just my luck.”
Zero thrust his hand out in front of him. Fang flew back into machine. He looked at Zero and focused. For a brief moment he saw what was too happen in the next few seconds.
Fang dropped to his knees and rolled to one side as a four metal poles from the mess Undertaker made flew from the mess and struck the machine. Sparks flew everywhere signaling an end to the machines life.
The second wave thundered through crating a dusty mist. Fang used it to his advantage and ran toward Zero. He picked up a pipe along the way and jumped atop a concrete block. He heard Zero cough due to the dust and charged at him. Zero saw him coming at the last minute. His grey eye flashed quickly and Fang’s projected attack was deflected and sent him flying backwards again.
Fang grunted in frustrating. He should have seen that coming. Again he focused on what he wanted to see. The sharp pain wasn’t nearly as painful as it had been before. He rolled to one side as a live electrical wire fell. Fang got to his drew his gun and fired at the coming Zero.
Surprised at Fang’s quick recovery, Zero wasn’t expecting the gun shots. He gripped his shoulder in pain. He glared at Fang. For a moment, their eyes met and Zero saw something in Fang’s eyes that made him pause. Fang was determined to succeed. Zero smiled. He guessed fighting Fang would be fun after all.
Fang ran at him, seeing ahead in time. Zero raised his hand above his head, summoning loose cords that ran through the ceiling. Fang dodged and parried them all knowing where they would be and how they would attack. To avoid getting hit by one, Fang dropped to the ground. His eye caught sight of a glass shard about as big as his hand. He grabbed it and put it away for later use.
For the moment, Fang was forced to retreat but he retreated with a plan of attack. When Fang saw his chance he charged at Zero similar to how he had earlier. He grabbed his gun and raised it to aim.
Zero laughed, “I guess you can’t teach old dogs new tricks.”
His grey eye flashed and the reflection field formed, throwing Fang back to the ground. Fang took the impact and rolled to his feet. He charged again at Zero only to receive the same result. Fang got to his feet and tried again.
Zero sighed and his grey eye flashed again. Fang was sent flying into the dirt and grime on the floor. He rolled onto his feet easily and instead of charging at Zero again he reached for the class that he had kept hidden. Fang threw it at Zero. By the time Zero realized what Fang was planning it was too late.
Zero screamed in pain as a sharp pain in his eye. He brought his hand up and felt the sharp glass there. Without his grey eye, Fang could attack without much resistance. Outraged, Zero threw out his hand. Fang had to lunge out of the way of a large fissure that opened under his feet.
Carefully and as calmly as he could manage, Zero pulled the glass from his eye. He could feel the blood rushing from the wound. His breath came out in ragged gasps as he struggled to understand exactly what had happened. He looked at Fang though his good eye and felt nothing but loathing hate.
Fang stood and kept a close eye on Zero’s movements. He looked at Zero’s wounded eye. It was closed at blood flowed freely from the wound and down the side of his face. A sound got Fang’s attention. A large concrete boulder rolled its way toward Fang.
Reighn suddenly appeared with his weapon and slammed it into the ground between Fang and the boulder. The bell on his wrist rang and the ground changed its form into a kind of claw that stopped the boulders progress. Reighn looked at Fang and nodded. He had the situation covered.
Fang looked back at Zero and ran at him.
Zero smiled, “I think I’ve had about all the fun I can handle.”
He started to teleport when a firm clawed grip his throat. Undertaker’s nails dug into his skin. The grey ex-Agent forced Zero to his knees. He looked deep into Zero’s good eye and smiled wildly.
“Well, now, that’s a nifty power,” Undertaker laughed, “You don’t mind if I add it to my collection do you?”
Zero felt the power being pulled from his body. He tried all he could but he couldn’t stop Undertaker from making his power part of his own. When it was done, Undertaker let him go. He turned to Fang and smiled.
“He won’t be going anywhere,” he said then vanished in a swirl of grey.
Zero looked at the approaching Fang. He glanced at the gun in his hand
“I’m not going to kill you,” Fang stated, “That wouldn’t be enough punishment.”
“Glad to hear it,” Zero smiled.
The machine closest to the both of them exploded throwing Fang off balance. Zero pushed him back and ran the opposite way. Fang started to run after him when an avalanche of piping and wiring fell in front of him. He looked back at Reighn. Reighn nodded. He rang the bell on his wrist and dropped his weapon to the floor. The barricade collapsed at the sudden jerking of the floor. Fang nodded his thanks and ran after Zero.

Arisa snapped her fingers in anger. Edonya jumped off the balcony as the whole thing exploded. When Edonya landed, she formed a blade in one hand and almost threw it when the first wave shook the ceiling. Her blade shattered because of its delicateness leaving Edonya without a weapon.
Arisa ran at her and snapped her fingers. A row of machines exploded into fire. Edonya was blown to one side. The girl crawled frantically to her feet. Arisa grabbed hold of Edonya’s arm. Her grip singed the other girl’s skin. Edonya screamed in pain but Arisa didn’t seem to care. Arisa threw Edonya, her adrenalin giving her the added strength she needed.
Edonya flew back first into a metal pipe. She fell to the ground face first. Almost instantly, Edonya got to her feet. Arisa screamed in fury and charged at her. She brought a finger to her mouth and blew fire. Edonya dove to one side. The second wave crashed through. The impact caused some pipes above to break and come falling down on Edonya.
She looked up and covered her head. The pipes danced around her as they settled from their ringing bounces. Edonya screamed as a large pipe fell on her leg. She tried pulling her leg out but it was hopeless with the enormous weight of the pipe. Edonya noticed a shadow over her and looked up to see Arisa standing above her. Arisa was about to snap her fingers and Edonya closed her eyes tight.
“Arisa!” Lumin shouted.
Arisa paused. She seemed to snap out of her temporary insanity. A tear found its way down her cheek. She put her hand down and turned around slowly.
Lumin was now standing a little ways away from Kyra’s body. His eyes were filled with disappointment at what Arisa had been ready to do. Arisa broke into a run toward the one she knew as Blue. She hugged him and started crying. He held her gently.
A shadow seemed to stir behind the machines just behind where Edonya was trapped. Lumin looked in the direction and saw Thae. Thae held Edonya in his arms; Edonya’s leg was broken and bloodied. She held on to Thae’s shoulder and appeared to be crying with relief. He met Lumin’s eyes for only a moment before returning to the shadows.
Lumin picked Arisa up in his arms. Together they made their way back to the stairwell and up the stairs.

Penelope made it to the top of the stairs. There was only a door in her way and she was ready to face whatever lay beyond that door. She rolled up her yellow and blue stripped sleeves, her eyes narrowed as she approached the door; she took a deep breath and gripped the door handle. She stopped. The door was lock. Her eyes grew wide with distress. After the awesome build up and epic hero music running through her head, she was stopped by a locked door.
It was her time to shine! She was supposed to whip out her tessaiga, her scythe, her awesome ninja technique. She was supposed to be the awesome butler that everyone feared! None of that Starlight Power crap or that New York Kitty-kitty junk! Heck! Everyone else got their big moment! It was about time that she got hers! She had the arm metal! She had the forbidden snake powers! Nothing was going to get in her way now! Nothing! Because she, Penelope A. Patience, was the biggest thing to hit the manga section! Step down, King! There was a new Queen in town! A Queen with kick-ass fighting abilities! And was alright with a gun! She was the Anime of anime’s! The Manga of manga’s! NOTHING WAS GOING TO STOP HER!!!!!
Penelope’s eyes narrowed, “That’s right! And a door isn’t going to get the EFF-ing better than me!”
She raised one leg and kicked the door down off its hinges. With a satisfied look on her face she walked out into the open. Her eyes grew wide as a vine shot past her and hit the cement that had held the door. She ducked as another one nearly took her head off. Another vine attacked her when she was low and she jumped both legs awkwardly to each side. She then ran around the corner and hid behind the cement block.
Hey, I said she was an anime/manga character, not Superman.

Insanity: Chapter Forty-Six

Insanity
Chapter Forty-Six
~Midnight~
Day Thirty-Six

Nest typed frantically at the keyboard. Rose sat nearby, bored to death. He sat on the ledge facing the machine, his legs dangling over the edge. Nest ignored the man’s humming.
The machine made a sudden whirl. It started spinning but only slowly. Rose sat up at the progress.
“Are you almost done?” Rose asked.
“Half way,” Nest reported, “It’s on. Now all I have to do is activate the ingrained program.”
Rose raised an eyebrow with interest, “Really? How will we know when it’s doing what it’s supposed to do?”
Nest smiled sarcastically, “Oh, we’ll know.”
Rose let out a long sigh as he reclined on the ledge, “I am so bored.”
“Will you keep quiet while I do my work,” Nest sounded annoyed, “You’re here to guard not make small talk.”
Rose rolled his eyes. There was no talking to Nest when he was on the verge of a breakthrough.
A few floors down Penelope hid in one of the empty business rooms. She hunkered down in a dark corner. Fang had told her to wait a while for someone, if anyone, were to come up to help her out so that was what she was doing. She knew that she was almost at the top but she also knew she needed rest before going up against whatever was up there.
A thought suddenly struck her. She ran to the large desk in the room and looked in it. There was a laptop there and she grabbed it. Penelope went back to her corner and turned it on. The laptop opened to a login page. With a few quick strokes on the key board, the laptop opened to the desktop page.
She typed frantically until she came across the security cameras on her floor. She looked at it briefly before moving on to something else. A few more keystrokes she hacked into the lone roof camera. Unfortunately, it was facing the wrong way. She created a program to gain control of the camera and it responded by turning very slowly. After a few minutes she was able to see the machine.
There were two people on the roof and no sight of Zero much to Penelope’s relief. She knew she was no match to Zero. One person was sitting on the ledge, he looked bored, at least Penelope though he was a he. The other one was typing feverishly at a key board. It looked like the machine was working but not yet fully functioning.
Penelope struck a key and the camera view shrunk to about half the page also showing the camera in the hallway. She retorted the image of the hallway and installed a program to wake her up in the camera viewed anything different than the way it was now. She tested the alarm; it was a high pitched noise that very few people could hear especially through walls.
Another press of a button and the hallway image took up half the screen space. After that she placed the computer down in front of her and lay back in her corner. Her eyes grew heavy and soon she was fast asleep.

Fang entered what looked like the utilities of the building; the electric, gas, water and anything else that made a building work. He entered just to see a flash of Arisa’s hair as she turned a corner.
“Arisa!” Fang yelled and ran after her.
He ran between rows and rows of large tanks that looked to contain salt for the water. Pipes ran back and forth above and below him. He turned the corner he thought Arisa had gone down and stopped. It was a maze of electronics and tanks and electrical work all surrounded by four sides with grey concrete. Fang sighed in frustration and ran down a row of generators.

Blue found his way into a type of clearing in the midst of the electrical hum of the tanks and electrical wires. Flare was almost gone back into the forest of hums.
“Kyra!” Blue shouted.
Flare stopped suddenly. She stood there frozen for a moment. Her breathing caught in her throat. She slowly turned around to see her long lost friend. Flare stared at Blue taking in his appearance. After a while, she gave him a crooked smile.
“Hey,” she said awkwardly.
She couldn’t say anymore, her words couldn’t make it into sounds.
“I thought you were dead,” Blue stated, his voice a little rough from lack of use.
“I should be,” Flare answered.
Blue answered quickly, “I should have—”
Flare shook her head, “There wasn’t anything you could have really done. You would have only gotten caught yourself,” she paused, suddenly her mouth felt really dry, “I see you’ve done well for yourself.”
“I guess you could say that,” Blue said with a smile, his smile faded, “You’ve looked better.”
She gave an uncomfortable laugh, “Yeah, I can’t argue with that.”
“Why Zero?” Blue asked.
Flare shrugged, she was about to answer when someone else answered for her.
“Because I saved her from that wrenched place,” Zero answered. A dark smile spread across his face, “Well, now, Flare, it seemed you found the enemy,” he eyed her darkly; “I suggest you do something about it.”
He stood on a platform, his grey and purple eyes staring down at the two below. His arms rested on the railing as he leaned over to get a better look at the two. Black hair fell lightly on his arms. His dark clothing made him look like a dark, sly, menacing creature even though his build looked thin and without power.
Blue glared at him, “Her name isn’t Flare.”
“It is to me,” Zero barely gave Blue a glance in his direction, “Either way, I have a previous engagement. When I come back, I want one of you dead. If you’re both are still standing there and talking like a pair of children when I get back, I’ll kill you both,” he looked in Flare’s direction, “Understood.”
Flare looked down to avoid looking into anyone’s eyes.
“Good,” Zero stood up straight. With a smile he added, “I’ll be back then.” With that said, Zero vanished in a dark purple mist.
Blue stared at where the man was a while longer. There was no one on earth that he hated more that than man at that moment. He looked at Flare. Her head was still down in thought and confliction.
“Kyra?” Blue asked.
She looked up at him. Tears had stained her face and were still flowing from her eyes, “I’m sorry, you don’t know Zero like I do.”
Blue’s shoulders slumped at the words, “I won’t fight you.”
Flare extended her hands out to the side. Fire began forming around her hands and wrists, “I don’t have a choice.”
“You always have a choice,” Blue said, the water pipes started to shake and clang.
“You don’t know Zero like I do,” Flare did her best to breath easily.
“I’m sure Fang can take you in. He’d do everything to protect you,” Blue offered.
“I’m sorry,” Flare took in a shaky breath, “I am so sorry.”
She trusted her hands forward. The fire shot toward Blue. The water pipes burst. Water flowed and swirled around Blue so when the fire hit it had no effect except filling the room with hot steam. Another stream of fire shot toward Blue. Blue made an ice wall that shattered when the fire touched it. Still in danger he jumped to one side. To his surprise the fire followed him, he shot his hand forward. Water left his hand and snaked around most of the fire leaving behind smoke and mist. The little that did escape got Blue’s leg. He shouted in pain and wrapped the burn in a thin layer of ice.
Flare threw fireball after fireball at Blue. He climbed a ladder to the second level. Blue managed to dodge most of them. He ran on the upper level metal walkway. One of the fireballs hit an electric control panel. It exploded causing Blue to be blown forwards. He fell hard on his shoulder on the metallic grated floor. Blue looked down and saw Flare, her orange eyes staring up at him with regret and determination. She inhaled and Blue had a sinking feeling as to what was coming. As fast as he could, Blue rolled out of the way as the blazing inferno blasted through the grated floor. As it grew neared Blue got to his feet and ran. There was another explosion and to avoid it Blue jumped over the railing and onto the ground.
He was breathing heavily already. His eyes spotted Flare as she walked out of the explosion toward him, a ball of fire in her hand. He didn’t want to fight her but he also had a promise to keep. Blue sighed as he got to his feet and avoided another fireball. He wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to keep his word on both promises.

Fang looked around hopelessly lost. He tried sniffing her out of listening to her but the smell and hum of all the machines seemed to mask any sign of her. Out of frustration, Fang hit a nearby machine.
“Frustrated, are we?”
Fang turned. Zero stood a few yards behind him. Fang’s mind raced, Zero was the last person he needed to see at the moment.
“I do have to say you are very punctual aren’t you,” Zero said, “Pity really that you won’t be there for your own funeral. It’s rather hard to be there when they won’t even be able to find your body when I’m through with you.”
A force radiated from Zero’s body, blowing Fang back through several machines. Fang quickly got to his feet and reached for his gun. A sharp pain ran through his head. For a moment, he his surroundings speed by followed by a sharp pain to his side. When the pain left as suddenly as it accrued, Fang saw Zero in front of him. Zero extended his hand. Fang found that he was unable to move. He was lifted into the air and thrown into yet another row of metal machines.
Fang coughed up blood. He staggered to his feet and struggled to keep balance. With the back of his hand he whipped the corner of his mouth where some blood seeping from his mouth. His vision blurred as Zero approached once again.
“You really disappoint me, Fang,” Zero said as he flicked his wrist.
Fang was sent flying into a concrete column. He gasped in pain as his head hit the column. His vision blurred. A sharp pain entered his head again, showing him crashing into yet another hard object.
“I thought it’d be fun to play with you,” Zero crouched in front of Fang, “But I see you’re nothing but a rag doll.”
Zero made a motion as if to shoo away a fly. Fang felt excruciating pain as he was thrown through the pillar and into a generator a few yards behind it. Fang gasped in pain. It wasn’t fair. It really wasn’t. Zero, when he died was able to get practically every power in the book, when Fang got a very nice gift every full moon. Fang stated at the ceiling, trying to work out a solution to win. He forced himself to sit up and stand. Zero approached him slowly.
Fang backed away. Something he had not felt in a years started to fill his core. Fear. Zero’s seemed to suck out any hope that Fang had of making it out of this alive and replacing it with dread and fear. Fang continued to step back as Zero grew closer. Zero seemed to be enjoying this slow and painful torturous death of another human being. But there was something that Fang though he recognized in Zero.
Suddenly, Fang tripped on an electrical wire and was sent sprawled on the cold floor. A smile appeared on Zero’s face as his prey no longer had anywhere to go.
“Beta?” Fang said in disbelief.
The smile on Zero’s face disappeared. The ceiling space between Fang and Zero caved in. As Fang covered his eyes from the debris he saw a grey blur land on its feet and run at Zero. A clawed hand grabbed Zero by the neck. At a speed Fang had only seen Raven accomplish his grey savior dragged Zero a few yards and threw him through three concrete columns and several machines beyond.
As the dust settled, Fang could vaguely see his rescuers silhouette.
“You alright there, Fang?” the voice seemed familiar but different at the same time.
Another figure approached him and offered him a hand. Fang accepted the help and stood up. He found himself looked into lilac eyes that he had seen before but not on the young man before him. The small bell around the man’s wrist brought the image forward in his memory.
“Reighn,” the other man called.
The man turned around and the bell around his wrist rang. Fang looked at the approaching silhouette. As the smoke and dust settled, he began to see Undertaker. His gold eyes were no longer hidden by his hair. He no longer had his hat and his grey cloak was undone all the way down exposing most of his well build chest. His black pants were dirty from the rubble. He did walk around bare foot, not minding the sharp items that were lying about.
Undertaker walked right up to Fang, took a long finger and pointed at Fang’s forehead. Fang took a step back, surprised at the force behind the poke. Undertaker smiled a bit, not as wildly as he had done in the past at his shop.
“As smart as you are,” Undertaker began without his accent, “you can be rather stupid.”
Fang didn’t respond. He was still determining with how to deal with Undertaker’s sudden change. Undertaker’s eyes seemed to look deep in to his own, deeper than just the surface. Another smile crept across the man’s face.
Undertaker moved his finger from Fang’s forehead to the tip of his nose, “So you just found out that Zero and Beta are the same person, hmm?”
For some reason, Fang felt a slightly violated. Hesitantly, he nodded. Reighn turned suddenly toward where Zero had been thrown. The bell on his arm rang.
“Undertaker,” blood ran down the side of Zero’s face, “I wasn’t expecting you to be here.”
“No one really expects me to be anywhere it seems,” Undertaker stated after he read Fang’s mind.
In all honesty, Fang really didn’t thing that a crazed old man who really did look crazed and old on the outside would bother to get involved. Then again, Fang hadn’t had the best luck with probability lately.
“Reighn, would you keep him busy for a while for me?” Undertaker told more than asked, “I have things to do here.”
The bell rang again and Reighn walked toward Zero. Reighn picked up a long pole. The bell rang and the poll turned into a reaper-like scythe. He ran toward Zero.
“Fang, you need to listen to me,” Undertaker smiled, “You have powers too you know. Just a little less noticeable than the others.”
Fang was about to say something but was stopped by Undertaker’s finger shushing him.
“You’ve been saying how the only power you’ve got has been turning in to and out of a wolf, am I right? Of course I am. Well, I’m here to tell you that you are wrong, dear Fang. Bloody wrong. Granted, it’s taken forever and a day to make itself known but now it’s been bugging out for a while and you still don’t see it? Of course you don’t. Like the time those Agents can you your door, the time when you and Shadow were on that boat, and several other situations, what did you thing those were? If you notice the time from when you get the visions and the time of the event gets shorter and shorter. Oh, Fang, you can see the future even if it isn’t so far ahead it is the future none the less. I’d steel that ability if I could,” Undertaker smiled, “but I won’t.”
There was a loud crash. Reighn pulled himself up from the ground. Undertaker took a quick glance behind him. He looked back at Fang.
“Focus,” Undertaker smiled.
He left Fang and dashed toward Zero. Zero barely noticed Undertaker’s approach when Undertaker kicked him in the side. He flew back and crashed in to a wall. Quickly he recovered as Undertaker approached gain by dashing at him at a low angle. He pushed Undertaker to the side sending him crashing into a concrete column. Reighn appeared just then, coming in low, slid on one knee and kicked Zero under the chin. Reighn pivoted to his feet and kicked Zero in the stomach sending him back.
Fang had to smile. Those two made a good team even outside the shop.

Edonya gasped for breath when she reached the area where Blue and Flare were fighting. She stepped back suddenly when an explosion of fire erupted in front of her. Stopped from going that way, she looked for another way. She smiled when she saw a ladder that went up to a higher level walkway than the ones Blue and Zero were on. She climbed the ladder easily and walked to a point to where she could see the action.
Blue shielded himself with water as a fire storm surrounded him. He was sweating nonstop from the intense heat crated from the steam created by the impact of water and fire. Blue’s defense was a foot thick bit the tornado of fire was reducing the width by the second. Again Blue was thinking of attacking but he did say that he wasn’t but at this rate he was going to break his promise to Arisa. Besides, he could really go for some ice cream right about now.
Suddenly, the fire faded away. Hesitantly he dropped some of his shield, enough to see out around him. He saw Flare on her knees breathing heavily. Blue dispersed his shield took a breath of cooler fresh air. He slowly walked toward her to see if she was all right. She had given him all she had and looked physically exhausted.
A sharp pain seared through his shoulder. He looked at his right shoulder. He was bleeding from a six inch cut and he could feel the pain but he couldn’t see what had gone through him. He fell to his knees and grabbed his shoulder. There was a thin sliver of resistance and he held his shoulder. He looked up at Flare thinking that she had done this but she looked back at him just as surprised as he was.
Flare looked to where the attack had come from. She spotted Edonya. The girl smiled back at Flare unknowing what had happened before he arrived. Edonya formed an invisible blade. It wasn’t really invisible as everyone thought but was made of a very thin glass. Whatever she thought about and created in her hands was formed in that invisible glass. She gripped the hilt of her blade and raised it above her head in the pre-motion to throw it.
“Wait!” Flare shouted but it was too late.
The blade had already been released from her hand. Flare reacted before she could think.
“Lumin!” she screamed as she ran toward Blue.
Edonya’s eyes grew wide with shock, “Flare?!”
Flare stood between Blue and the blade. She felt a sick feeling as it went through her, cutting her diaphragm. She staggered a little ways, holding the area around where the blade hand entered. Weakness in the knees and a lack of oxygen caused her to collapse and fall onto her side. Edonya stared at the scene below confused and bewildered.
“Kyra?” Blue crawled to her side, “Kyra?”
Flare lay on her side, gasping for air. Her life blood was draining out of her body. She raised one hand and dragged it through her blood. Blue looked at where her hand went. She drew a circle with triangles shooting out of it. In the inside she drew a spiral that connected with the base of the circle. She gave a weak smile.
Blue nodded his understanding and removed the invisible blade. He touched the exposed wound with his fingers and drew beside her sun. He painted a crescent moon with a spiral connected to the bottom tip of the moon.
Flare smiled.
She pointed toward the moon, “Lumin,” she said between short raspy breaths. She then pointed to her picture of a sun, “K-k-ky-”
“Kyra,” Lumin said for her.
Kyra nodded. Lumin rolled Kyra on to her back. Their eyes met; Kyra’s fiery orange eyes and Lumin’s cool blue ones. Lumin leaned down and kissed her on the lips. He then found the hilt of the blade and firmly pulled it out. He threw the blade aside and cupped Kyra’s face in his hand. Near the end, Lumin released the kiss. Kyra’s breath was getting shallower and shallower. She looked up to him and smiled.
Her eyes began to wander past him, unblinking and distant. He heard her take her last breath. Kyra was dead.
“Blue!”
Lumin looked up suddenly at his old name. He saw Arisa standing a ways away. Arisa’s gaze shifted from the girl in orange to the one she knew as Blue. She saw the blood running from his shoulder but the girl had no weapons to inflict such a wound. There was a clang from above and Arisa’s eyes shot up to the sound. She saw Edonya standing there with a horrified look on her face. Edonya raised her hand above her heard again as if to throw something. In a brief moment of clarity, Arisa noticed the slight discoloration in the area above her hand. The moment passed and was replaced with rage.
“You’re dead!” she screamed at Edonya.

The machine’s spinning increased as Nest sat typing with a grin on his face. Rose stood and walked toward him. His hair was being stirred by the breeze being created by the machine. He stared at it as it continued, faster and faster. Nest seemed to be close to finishing. Rose took another step forward when the machine fully activated.
It was time that the building entered into dawn.
