The Turn: Chapter Thirty-Seven

The Turn
Chapter Thirty-Seven
~So it Begins~
One Year Before The Turn

Scar sat in the center of the helm. Others sat around looking at screens and monitoring progress while three others sat ahead and focused on flying the massive ship. He smiled as he saw the tall towering building. Finally things were getting into place. The giant warship, the Metamor, was the first of its kind and had the ability to flatten the little island before people knew it existed.
A door open and the driver walked in and stood on Scar’s right side. He looked out the panoramic windows ahead at the Island. The Island was in sight. It was indeed a beautiful land made up of plains, forests, deserts, mountains and defiantly urban life. Even looking at the surrounding ocean he could tell that they had some beautiful coral reefs.
The driver looked down at Scar, “It’s a shame really. It’s a beautiful island.”
Scar looked up at him, “But as you say, they are a force to be reckoned with and too dangerous to be left alone.”
“That is what I said, wasn’t it,” the driver nodded.
Scar looked back at the view, “I say we use the Silver Void and be done with it.”
“Why rush things?” the driver stated. “I say we toy with them a little.”
“What do you propose?” Scar asked.

“Sir, the main cannon is showing an energy spike!” one of the computer workers below shouted out.
“What is its target?” Sirius called.
Leena provided the answer, “Downtown, narrowing down to specific location.”
“Tell the police to get everyone out of there!” Sirius commanded.
“Aye, sir!” the entire room shouted.

Zara ran down the empty streets toward the east docks. Her team ran behind her, Chaud on her left. Fang ran toe to toe beside her on her right while Shadow ran a little slower on Fang’s right. Fang’s team rallied around him. Zara looked over at Fang several times on their trek. She wondered how in the world he and his team managed to take down Zero. To be considerate, she slowed her running pace so that he could keep up. On the other hand, Fang glanced at her as well wondering why the Tower would hire such inexperienced teens. He was running slower so the young bloods wouldn’t get left behind in the dust.
It didn’t matter now; they both had the same goal: stop Scar and drag his butt prison where he could stare at white walls all day.
They ran over the next ridge and saw exactly what they were up against. Both Zara and Fang stopped in their tracks and looked at the sight before them. An enormous airship sailed just off the coast. A large cannon propped onto the top of the ship turned slightly. There was a high-pitched whine that followed.
Zara muttered, “Shoot!”
“Let’s move!” Fang called and dashed forward.
The cannon fired and shot forward a bright light. It was quickly followed by an explosion. Vicky was blown to one side as a building burst in flame. Penelope tripped on a rock and fell on her face, breaking her glasses. Though they weren’t attacked directly, the impact and flames were felt for several blocks.
“What the—” Deontay exclaimed.
“Well that’s going to be a bit of an issue,” Chaud dusted off his shirt.
Shadow nodded, “True. How do you propose we proceed?”
Chaud smiled, “I need to make a call first.”

“Where did that beam strike?” Sirius asked.
“The Appleberry Company building,” Leena stated. “The building and the surrounding businesses were reported evacuated five minutes ago. Casualties unknown but unlikely.”
Sirius sighed with relief. The phone suddenly rang on the table next to the computer. Sirius picked up the phone and answered it.
“Hello dad!” Chaud’s voice rang through the phone.
“Chaud!” Sirius exclaimed, “Where are you! Do you know how much trouble you’re in!?”
“Looks like there’s giant alien spaceship that nearly fired my head off with a beam of some sort,” Chaud stated.
“What? Where are you!?” Sirius questioned.
“I’m at the docks,” Chaud explained, “Just calling to say that Fang, Zara and I are going to save the day now. Do you have any ideas how to do that?”
Sirius sighed, “Well, we need to get rid of that cannon at all cost. It would be great if we could take down the whole thing as well.”
“What do we have with weapons?” Chaud asked.
Sirius smiled, “Whatever you have on you right now. We don’t have the time nor the manpower to get anything to you right now.”
Chaud considered the situation, “Sounds good.”
“Chaud, wait!” Sirius started.
Chaud paused, “Yeah, dad?”
Sirius sighed, “Be safe.”
“Will do,” Chaud stated. “Tell mom hi for me,” he hung up the phone.

“Well?” Hina had her hands on her hips, “What’s the plan?”
Chaud pointed at the flying fortress, “We need to take out that cannon.”
“Wow,” Naru rolled his eyes, “Any idea how we’re going to do that?”
“I might,” Zara said.
“If only we had plans of a’ what the flyin’ thing looks line on the inside,” Alister sighed.
“Aw, look at the cute little robotic doggie!” Arisa exclaimed.
All eyes turned to look at her. She crouched in front of a large robotic dog.  Arisa patted the dog on the head. Lumin stood close by and made sure that the dog didn’t try anything. Chaud looked slightly interested.
“Miwa?” Chaud questioned.
Miwa turned to him, his blue eyes looking at his friend. His tail waved excitedly, “Hey, what’s up!”
He stopped waving his tail as all eyes landed on him, “What?” Miwa looked around, “Why is everyone looking at me?”
“Are you equipped with a scanner?” Chaud asked with a smile on his face.
Miwa took a few steps back, “Maybe.”

“The airship has three levels. The engine is in the lowest level. If you are going to take that thing out of the sky, I’d start there,” Miwa walked along side Fang and Zara, “The best time to get in would be when the main cannon is taken out. I think that would be rather distracting. They do have two more but they aren’t as powerful as the main one. Personally, I think that this plan will be a good one. You two came up with this together?”
“No,” both Zara and Fang said at the same time.
Miwa looked over his shoulder, “So Chaud came up with it on the spot?”
“I think he talked it out with that guy with the black hair,” Zara said.
“Shadow,” Fang stated, “His name is Shadow.”
“Sorry, I wasn’t able to catch his name when he was shooting at me and my second,” Zara’s sarcasm leaked through.
“Okay!” Miwa butted in, “You know other than the whole ‘doom falling from the sky’ thing it is actually really nice today. I heard it’s supposed to be 85° today! 85°! Can you believe that?”
“Are the others in position?” Zara rolled her eyes.
“They should be,” Chaud stated as he walked up.
Raven walked up beside him, “Everything is in order Fang.”
Chaud shrugged, “That’s basically what I just said.”
“With a lot less certainty,” Raven muttered.
“At this rate,” Miwa shook his head, “Our rate of success is going to be 85%. So when does this whole shindig start ‘cause I kinda need to disappear. Don’t worry though! I’ll find a nice safe place to watch you guys from. Far away from here. Like waaaaay over there.”
“See ya, Miwa,” Chaud said.
“You might want to run,” Zara stated as she looked at her watch, “It’s about to begin.”
The cannon turned slightly and started its high pitched charging.

    2. Hahaha, yeah xD I dunno if you meant for this, but Zara and Fang are similar and Chaud and Shadow might be similar as well. They have the same positions in the team, sort of (Zara and Fang, the leaders. Chaud and Shadow, they help the leader and tend to annoy them sometimes xD)

    3. O.o Wha-aa-t? Lol! I have no idea what you are talking about! XD But yeah, they are very similar but with their own personalities. I don't quite know why the seconds always annoy their leaders though...it just kind of seems to happen. Probably because they are so close with the leader or something, I don't know! XD
